Great prompt suggestions, Denyse! I’ve been using longer, more detailed prompts lately and have been very pleased with the results.

Brilliant. The focus on instruction-following is key. That consistency is a game-changer for many fields beyond genealogy, especialy coding and education.

I have been using prompts suggested by fellow genealogist Steve Little of AI Genealogy Prompts. Actually, I had Gemini 2.5 review and improve some of his previous prompts. Those prompts provided excellent results as recently as yesterday with Gemini 2.5. But today I took your advice and used your "review & improve" prompt on an existing useful prompt using Gemini 3.0. Frankly, I was surprised on how well and how much the revised prompt enhanced the original considering Gemini 2.5 had already reviewed it. Thanks for your suggestions and excellent prompts to execute those recommendations!

I'm just wading into the AI-as-a-tool pool. Am using the free version and poking around to see what it does with Substack posts, and posts elsewhere about cultural/family history written by cousins.

My first try rattled me. Because it was so quickly useful. I told it that it was freaking me out. The response still has me laughing. It told me it's just a tool, and to calm down and get a cup of tea.

I'm not a professional genealogist, and my interest is with Acadian/Canadian French heritage. I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading to the paid version soon. Thanks for leading on the best path for the newest version!
